The Blewish Dybbuk Project, or The Ibbur

A music filled adaptation of S. Ansky's The Dybbuk, reclaiming the classic, mystical, Yiddish text in a Black Jewish woman’s body. Grief and longing over the murder of Elijah McClain opens up a young woman as a vessel for his soul on the eve of her wedding. What is real and what is supernatural? What is love and Justice? Good and evil? — a Dybbuk is defined as possession by an Evil spirit. In The Blewish Dybbuk, the dead soul has been miscast, seen as evil on the outside, despite being a divinely beautiful soul.
